Norway 2012 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Santorini Black
Bilstein CVD front shocks

Does anyone know where I can get my hands on Bilstein front shocks (with bags is also an option) for a 2012 TDV8 with CVD, that cost only an arm or a leg, and not both?

Is there a particular reason for wanting Bilstein?

The OE supplier for the front was Delphi who became BWI. Bilstein on the rear. Kevin

I fitted Bilstein front struts and rear shocks ex UK because they were considerably cheaper than LR ex UK although still quite expensive. The struts were fitted with Dunlop air-springs.

No real reason tbh, only personal preference.
Bilstein are a dedicated suspension company, only dealing with that.
BorgWarner/Deplhi make everything from clutch plates to alternators. Razz

Be careful - Bilstein rear air-springs are the shorter variety used on earlier L322s with shorter rear shocks and will split open on MY07-09 TDV8 and all MY10-12 vehicles if the vehicle is used at off-road height on rough ground where the shocks can fully extend.

Thanks Graeme, good tip!

I have the CVD-ones though.. I didn't know CVD was available on the earlier L322s?

I'll keep that in mind though, allthough I rarely take it out on roads so rough that I need off-road height over longer distances.
It's more of a.. "stock exchange tractor" as we call them here in Norway. Laughing

Longer non-CVD rear shocks were fitted to TDV8 only versions of MY07-MY09 and all CVD rear shocks are the same, longer length.

The Bilstein rear CVDs that I fitted to mine are the same length as the original LR CVDs but Bilstein messed-up in using the original shorter air-springs so their air-springs burst.

Allright, gotcha.
So no Bilstein air bags on the back, specifically then.
I can't find them anywhere, along with the front complete struts (except for silly prices above 1100 euros) so unless someone knows of a webshop that has them I guess I'll be going for the standard BorgWarner setup.
It seems like it's tried and tested though, and I bet you guys would let me know if they're not the way to go. Wink

Advanced Factors only have the Dunplo rear bags.
Are they any good..?
