I have this with mine but it is a P530.
The throttle map/gearbox map and probably several other ECUs need improving.
Make your dealer investigate and when they say to you it is just a characteristic of the car insist that they feed it back up to JLR. letters not necessarily in the right order

I had a harsh change down on my L405 5.0 S/C when slowing to a rest but my p530 is always very smooth.

As for no buttons… I find menu’s frustrating , but frankly once the car is set up there are very few reasons to go into them again. I only use voice controls on high days and holidays.

I had a MY24 velar today as a loan car during a service.

Identical everyday controls to th FFRR

No buttons- had to adjust the heating Easy peasy on the screen . No thought required. Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc
