Painting Scuttle Panel - Advice Sought.

Right, I've had enough of my scuttle panel turning white every few months - even after using expensive trim restorers (as recommended on here).

So I'm going to paint it. Can't be a**ed to remove it, so will paint it in-situ.

Can anyone recommend which paint I should use please? What about Humbrol Enamel paint? It's used for painting plastic models so would it work on a plastic scuttle?

Any advice gratefully received.

I used this trim restorer on mine a few years ago and surprisingly it is still black.
On this basis l could recommend it. Thumbs Up

I just got my local bodyshop to do the bonnet vent (when I had an L322) but I just tidied up the scuttle. Every time I look at a picture I wish I still owned that car. Geoff

All I'll say is it will take less time to remove it than it does to mask it up, you will also get a better job done off the car. If you do do it on the car don't forget to put paper under the vent, inside the bonnet....

As a model maker I wouldn't use the Humbrol enamels as I think it would spider Web crack on you. I can't recommend any other paint though. There's got to be something out there....

OK, thanks for the comments all. I have decided to take @nicedayforit's suggestion and give trim restorer one last try.

How did this work out? I too am fed up with the light grey/white plastic look that returns every 3-4 months after using plastic trim restorer on it!
