Yes if you use certain suppliers but you will also find that 'genuine' JLR parts are made by 3rd party manufacturers such as Brembo who also don't actually make them either and outsource them as well... 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

'Genuine' JLR front pads are not Brembo even though the disks and calipers are. This is why they are £££££. AFAIK they are Jurid? 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

I got Brembo discs from Autodoc and I opted for Ferodo pads as they are supposed to be less dusty.

I changed out all my discs and pads for"Brembos", supplied by Advance Factors, several years ago. Have been all good. Previous cars:

That is not why they are expensive, they are expensive as they are one of the most commonly purchased parts with high margin. There is nothing special about the pads, they will however potentially be a higher quality than the off the shelf JURID IAM equivalents, probably the anti corrosion qualities and/or quality control - or not! |

When I last looked Jurid pads were superior in terms of low dust. low noise and environmental aspects. I thought they were still overpriced so went with Delphi. They work well enough and the dust is mainly from the disks (i.e iron) so easy to clean off. All pads have to conform to the same friction coeficient standards so can't be more or less effective than OE so you pay the extra for the other qualities. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

Absolutely, backing plate, corrosion inhibitor coating, dust/noise down to material make up. |

Mine delivered yesterday from Autodoc at £90 with others advertised around £160. However you live and learn and will know better next time.
