Best source for discs, pads and service items

Hi all,

I'm shortly to do discs and pads on my 2010 TDV8. Where are people heading for decent prices on OEM parts?

Also, is there a reference for a list of items needed for a full service?

Cheers,

Joel

OEM are Brembo disks and Jurid pads which are not cheap even from indy suppliers. Also depending on your level of ability changing the front disks and pads can be a nightmare as the retaining pins and bleed nipples easily seize in the alloy calliper body. Piston seizure on the rears is also common so you may need new ones or a recon kit. If you download the workshop manual from the Wiki it will have a service section but if the car is new to you and you want to do everythig;
Oil and oil filter
Air filters
Cabin filter
Fuel filter
Gearbox ( Search 'Brodsy') Diffs and transfer box
Brake Fluid
PS fluid
Assuming you have a 4.4 then other 'service' items are;
Clean the MAP sensor
Oil cooler gaskets and turbo feed oil rings if they are leaking and the previous owner has not done them ( and coolant flush and header tank replace)
Intake 'doughnut' to manifold connectors.
Alternator
AC compressor
Aux belt, pulleys and tensioners. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Brilliant, thanks everyone.

I have already had the discs and calipers off in order to fit new dust shields and didn't encouter any problems. Car was previously owned by a guy on this forum who did everything himself and kept very good records so I am hopeful of not encountering any massive pitfalls.

Make friends with your local independent specialist. They'll keep most parts in stock, and advise brands/procedures where possible Thumbs Up
