It was a simple task on the old 2008 3.6 Vogue, but I'm a bit stumped with this 2012 one....

Three small bolts with crosshead slots, two vertical bolts on the slam panel and one horizontal in the middle of the grill. Grill comes away from the body at the top edge, pulls forward slightly and then I expected it just to pull upwards and away..... Nope!

Pulling upwards at an angle away from the car as hard as I dare and the whole car body starts to move upwards on the suspension!

What am I missing???

There's no access to anything that might be a fixing at the bottom of the grill, or do I need to remove the whole front bumper to reveal more screws (surely not)?

Have searched the forum for ideas without success - all I could find were posts about fitting the later grill to earlier cars.

Try pulling forwards, not upwards.
Last time I used gloves as I put my fingers through the grill at the lowest possible points.
Start at the edges. 2012 4.4TDV8

I use a large flat bladed screwdriver to lever where the two lower ‘lugs’ locate into their holders, a twisting action usually pops them out without needing to pull on the grille itself (which if not careful, can detach from the grille frame as it’s only plastic welded together). Jonathan

So, for anyone else with a 2010-2012, the grill comes off at the bottom horizontally - nothing like the previous model at all.

There are actually four push-fit lugs on the bottom of the grill. Once the top three bolts are undone, just pull the grill directly away horizontally. Needless to say, a degree of care is required and as Stan has said above, place a tea-towel between the grill and the bumper to avoid scratches.
