It’s a known weak point and iirc it can be fixed by removing the plug, use some suitable sealant and reassemble.

Regarding this thread. Do you think my oil leak could be from the top of the pump?

I'd get it to specialist to diagnose it tbh.

Shouldn't need a 'specialist' to diagnose this as it doesn't need specialist diagnostic kit and they are just going to eyeball it like anyone else. I agree the best way is to clean off the oil with brake cleaner to get a better idea where it's coming from. As the belt is contaminated it will need replacing anyway whatever the source of the leak and this is the big job that is best entrusted to a specialist as it involves removal of the rad shroud and fan unit. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

When mine was leaking oil at the front the fan was chucking it all over the inside of the engine bay. Turned out to be the gallery plugs which is a pig of a job apparently and lovely little four-figure bill for the conscientious owner to rectify.

Mine was hairline crack in the driverside inlet manifold gasket. Whilst the chaps were their the changed the manifold prone to cracking so best be safe. All good no oil misting now. Also new gasket on the vacuum pump and no oil smoke out the exhaust either. Now test run to the alps |
