Remote heater issue

Hi

I have a 2012 Westminster 4.4tdv8 with remote fuel burn heater,

Unfortunately it has no remote, and after searching I see there are different remotes and receivers.

I checked my module and it’s a T91R 8h52 18d540 ac,

I then ordered a t91r remote the one with off and the heat/fan symbol.

I think this is the issue as I can’t pair it, despite the videos guides etc.

Does anyone else have a L322 2012 t91r with working remote if so what remote do you have please?

Thanks

Woody

Yes that’s different to my remote,

Is your controller a t91r?

The manual is in the Wiki if it’s any use, but I’d say you need a T91.

Sure there was a thread fairly recently about the remotes….

Looks like I have a T91r and definitely need a T91

Does anyone have one for sale?

You could put a Wanted ad in the For Sale section.

Just before you do...

I have the remote for my FBH but I couldn't get it working. Despite the remote lighting up and everything, it would just not pair.

So, I changed the battery and low and behold, it worked immediately. It seems these remotes need a very exact 3V from the battery or they will light up as if they're working, but not power their transmitter.

If you've already tried a new battery then, I think it's a case of try a T91 remote (or see below) but if you haven't, I'd try a battery first, as it's a cheap option. This is the battery I ordered:

VARTA Batteries Electronics CR1/3N Lithium button cell 3V battery 1-pack, Button cells in original blister pack of 1 https://amzn.eu/d/fbjc0tu

Your alternate option:

Set up your own WiFi or Bluetooth switch, which is very easy to do and then, you can heat your car from your phone instead of having to carry around a separate remote. Here's some inspiration:

I’ve been through exactly this issue in the last month. I have a 2012 TDV8 Vogue. Having done research on the forum I ordered two fobs from eBay at different times neither of which would pair. In the end I ordered the LR OEM fob from Rob at Duckworth’s having supplied my Reg No. it cost 2x of the eBay ones but paired first time.

Below is the fob part number that worked for me and the unit installed in my car. Hope that helps.

BTW; when you get it sorted post back on what worked for you to help in the future.

Thank you that’s just the info I was looking for

You have the same controller as mine, T91R but still needs a T91 remote

I recommend checking the part number thoroughly as I bought a T91 ( i.e. not the R ) secondhand from eBay and it failed to pair. I determined that there may be several types of T91 that vary by part No. so uou can’t go by how it looks. TDV8 4.4 2012

I've been doing some digging on this one.

Theres 2 different remotes listed for the 2010-2012 (and both look the same so, make sure you go by chassis number):

LR009736 - Chassis AA000001 - BA336892
LR027493 - Chassis BA336893 -

There are also 3 different variants of the Telestart unit:

LR009687 - Chassis AA000001 - BA342419
LR027067 - Chassis BA342420 - CA368914
LR036696 - Chassis CA368915 -

My vehicle is BA3363... .Seeking a T91 or T91R remote might be a red herring because the above numbers have to mean what you think is a T91R remote was in use on vehicles that still had a T91 Telestart (because mine has a T91 Telestart and is in that first camp), because the later remote number started on chassis before the change in part number of the Telestart.

I think the more likely reason some people have had problems buying 2nd had ones is because the remotes are locked to a range of serial numbers (or the Telestarts are) and that potentially also explains why there isn't a single aftermarket supplier of OE Webasto remotes and programming out there. If you buy a 2nd hand Land Rover remote from a 2010-2012 vehicle, you've got a 50/50 chance of it being correct for your vehicle. You can probably increase those odds by assuming BA336892 is as far as Q1 2011 amd BA336893-> are anything after that date and therefore getting a remote from a similarly registered vehicle as yours. Part numbers before 2010 were entirely different and the remote also looked different. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8
