United Kingdom 2003 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Adriatic Blue
My 2003 with a 2010 facelift

I Just bought a 2003 Vogue for the missus and had a 2010 conversion done by DCC. They did a great job and they're nice guys to deal with. Here's a picture. It's dark Blue BTW.

Thanks Gary, I had a bit of a deal because the day I phoned to book it in was the day they put up their prices. They advertise on Ebay at £3,495 fully fitted. I bought the chrome Mirror covers and bonnet / windscreen insert from Powerful UK.

What is the opinion on how much value a conversion adds to say a 2003/4/5 car?

depends who wants to buy it, it is still a 2003 etc car underneath the shell and people might get put of by the possible insurance problems.....but, a good condition low mileage car would be attractive...

Thats why I was asking as there is no real answer at the moment - opinion would be good Thumbs Up

I reckon about 2.5k for a perfect conversion on a nice 2003/4/5 base car with standard mileage. Maybe £3-3.5k on a low mileage 2006/7/8. Parts alone are worth a good few bob.

My opinion is that it adds nothing to the value at all. I wouldn't pay anything extra for a facelifted car. As already mentioned, a 2003 car is still a 2003 car regardless of the front end it has fitted.

Generally speaking I'm suspicious of things pretending to be something they are not. Why would a 2003 car have a 2010 front end on it? The most likely explanation is that the previous owner did a conversion for the love of it like a few on here, but I would be thinking "maybe it had a front end smash so they tarted it up with a new front end when being repaired". It isn't necessarily a rational approach but since when has buying a car and especially a range rover been a rational process?! Same could of course be said for someone who *would* pay extra for a converted car.

I agree with a lot of the above but lets not lose sight of the fact that a properly converted car includes quite a lot of pricey original 2010 equipment and completed projects can undoubtedly look very similar to actual 2010+ cars.

I think if nothing else they make an older higher mileage car stand out and give the buyer a reason to consider it and for that alone its adding value.
