The brake cleaner will just wash the oil off and it will drip down under the car so just make provision for that. No need to wash it off as it will evpourate so don't do it in an enclosed space. Never liked steam cleaning in engine bays as the water gets into the electical connectors. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

Well unfortunately o-rings haven't solved the oil leak as I thought, unless changing them caused a leak elsewhere as ended up still leaking oil. So decided to change complete oil cooler, stripped down yesterday and awaiting replacement delivery today. Then disaster strikes, I go and snap coolant pipe which causes coolant to shoot out of hole where oil cooler sits, I managed to stem flow but not before a small amount drained into engine. So can anyone help with the following ? 1. has anyone part number for snapped plug/pipe 2. should I take this opportunity to do an engine oil change to be safe because of the coolant contamination. 3. do i drain from sump or use a pump ? Many thanks in advance for any help

I would do an oil/filter change anyway. I used a pump and it appeared to get most of the oil out.

Hi, Oil floats on water so assuming the extraction tube goes to the very bottom of the sump it should pull the water out before the oil so you may be safe.

The extraction tube connects to the sump drain plug so it gets as much out as if it had a sump plug. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |
