I've downloaded the instructions from topix and seems a rather straight forward job. I will be off next weekend so I'm going to tackle the job myself, is there anything i should worry about and also I've read somewhere else on here that it's just plug and play basically. I've got the gap iid tool to enable it in the ccf. And would i be wrong in thinking that some of the wiring looms are already fitted on a 2008 or have i misread something? |

It's a few years since I fitted mine but I remember it being very straight forward - I'm sure someone on here has done a write up on it. The only problems I remember were needing some Taps to clean the threads on the holes that LR had thoughtfully left open to the atmosphere underneath the car and the cable that runs up to the overhead console is only just long enough, it needs to be very carefully routed from the ECU, there is no spare length.

Yes cass somebody else mentioned that too, another tool set I'll need to buy, that's 1 thing I've not got. Been told that some can't be used using a drill because of the air tank. Thanks Stan I'll have me look. |

Well guys today i made a start on fitting the steps today, well if you can call it that. I had a lie in this morning for the first time in months, so today went off to Halfords to get me some kit which was sold out with what i needed. Went to another place and they too also sold out. So thought i would bite the bullet and try to see if i could get the bolts to screw in to the chassis instead of re-tapping them. A nice result though i say, bit fiddly but got the holes all ready to bolt the steps in just by screwing bolts in so that should be easy when it comes to fit them. Sprayed some WD-40 in the holes just to make sure.

Thanks David, i do believe i have all the right wiring and looms, i checked them against the instructions. So I'll soon find out tomorrow when I'm going to fit all together. If so, I'm going to be a very happy man.

There's a lot of dismantling on the interior, but I had no problems really.

Thanks ffrr-lover I'll give it a go shortly. What year is your overfinch? The thing is if i can't get the damn things to work or can't get hold of the correct loom, then i will just put them up for sale again.
