If you are only looking at the petrol, you won’t have any choice but to have those seats. I have the same in mine. It’s the Vogue that has the more chunkier looking seats but you will need diesel for that trim. I had 2003 car and the seats were more comfortable, but then they had more adjustment as they did not contain the side airbags… they did after…. I wouldn’t call them uncomfortable though. I agree the interior is ivory. The cooled seats don’t use an element, they use a piezo cell, so the heating up won’t be as quick as on your current car.

How come that doesn't have the 8 speed ZF gearbox? Christian.

Thanks mjdronfield and cass for your replies and some good points made by both (the little things like a difference in steering wheel do definitely matter).

I think it must, does it say otherwise? Thought that was standard fit with no option to change? By the way, I found the L322 Project interesting Christian |

I never knew that Stan...... I have the 6 speed in my current 2007MY 4.4 petrol and don't mind it, although isn't the 8 speed supposed to be the better box? |

The 8 speed is a really good box, it's used on a really wide variety of cars, including the Rolls Royce Phantom & Cullinan and the Aston Martin DBS

Yes, you will need a diesel to get the top of the line gearbox…..🤣 it has more torque than the SC so I’m guessing the 6 speed wasn’t up to the job.

Petrol cars have a wider torque band (spread over a greater rev range) than diesel engined vehicles. This means that it is unnecessary to have a greater number of gears. My MY06 doesn't have the e locking diff. Can't say that I've missed out on having it though! Previous cars:

Yes, the 5.0 was 6 speed previous generation ZF gearbox. The chassis was never adapted to take the 5.0 with ZF8 combination. Nothing wrong with the 6 but it will eat through fuel much quicker than an L405 5.0 with a ZF8. Only the 4.4 TDV8 has the later generation 8 speed box on the L322. This is most likely because of the torque output and that it was a brand new engine, with a view to fit to the upcoming (at the time) L405, after the engine design was dropped from the Ford F150. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8 |

They are not the same and they are not as comfortable. Having gone from an 2008MY Vogue to a 2012MY Westminster, I can tell you that the cooled seats have less padding in them. The seats are the only thing I'd want to change back from the later car. Don't get me wrong, the cooled seats are not uncomfortable, they are just not as deep and plush! However, everything else is better!!!! The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom |
