Help Fault Finding - Lumpy Idle and blue(ish) smoke | |
Hi All,
I'm having some problem diagnosing / fault finding this issue with the car. I've done a lot of trawling online but can't get to the bottom of it.
My 2008 3.6 TDV8 occasionally has a very lumpy idle on start-up with quite a bit of blue(ish) white smoke from the drivers side exhaust. It's very intermittent, and will happen on a cold start and/or a warm start. It settles down after a few minutes, or if I proceed to drive off, and it also settles if I give it a bit of throttle when at stand still.
I'm not getting any codes up on my GAP IId tool.
Recently changes the EGR valves (had fault codes for this come up). It happened prior to changing these, but then appeared to stop after fitting the new ones, but soon returned. As mentioned above, it's very intermittent and happens once every 10 starts.
Top intercooler hoses have also been replaced.
I've monitored the injector balancing and they appear to be OK. I can't remember of the top of my head but between 900-1100 comes to mind. I remember checking the values online at the time and appeared to be within range.
Could this still be a faulty / leaking injector issue?
Any ideas what this could be, and what else I should be checking?
Thanks in advance.
