I tried exactly that too David but like you, it didn't seal and I ended up losing the brake fluid.

When I replaced the rear nearside caliper, I let gravity do the work for me. Worked a treat. Took about 15 minutes. I wasn't in a rush so it worked just fine for me |

Maybe I need to correct my wording. Firstly, to bleed you can do it in the usual way. To flush, I think you should follow the correct procedure. This a L322 brake diagram.
The ABS module is on the same circuit, but there are internal reserviours that are not a part of the primary brake circuit and are only opened to the rest of the circuit when the ABS is active. This fluid will not get changed if you just bleed the brakes in the conventional way. Now, I haven't changed the brake fluid on my Range Rover, so am more than happy to be corrected. I have changed the brake fluid of the ABS brakes of my motorcycles and you have to bleed them, get the ABS pump to flush out the old fluid, then bleed them again if you want to replace the brake fluid across the system. From my understanding the Range Rover system requires a similar procedure for flushing. |

That looks like a Bobby Dazzler. Most certainly ordering one of those. Love buying more tools… |

Like the fact that it's a 1 man operation and doesn't need an airline from a compressor. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |
