I'm reluctant to clamp brake hoses now as I've had problems with them in the past after the clamp has been removed.

On mine I tried a nut and bolt with a copper washer either side but they didn't seal. 2002 4.6 Vogue SE - Alveston Red with Lightstone Leather

I tried exactly that too David but like you, it didn't seal and I ended up losing the brake fluid.

One of the chaps I work with wedged his brake pedal in the down position thereby causing a vacuum in the lines so the fluid didn't leak out. A good idea which I'll probably try next time. Kev

When I replaced the rear nearside caliper, I let gravity do the work for me. Worked a treat. Took about 15 minutes. I wasn't in a rush so it worked just fine for me

Maybe I need to correct my wording. Firstly, to bleed you can do it in the usual way. To flush, I think you should follow the correct procedure.

The ABS module is on the same circuit, but there are internal reserviours that are not a part of the primary brake circuit and are only opened to the rest of the circuit when the ABS is active. This fluid will not get changed if you just bleed the brakes in the conventional way.

Now, I haven't changed the brake fluid on my Range Rover, so am more than happy to be corrected. I have changed the brake fluid of the ABS brakes of my motorcycles and you have to bleed them, get the ABS pump to flush out the old fluid, then bleed them again if you want to replace the brake fluid across the system. From my understanding the Range Rover system requires a similar procedure for flushing.

I've just bought that pressure vessel from amazon. Did you find it worked well without ant issues and would two litres in it be enough etc?

I bought one of them and it worked a treat the first time.
Came to use it a year later and all the seals were shot.
Bought this one which is very good but you need an air compressor.
