2007 MY Deployable Side Steps

Has anybody on here installed the steps on a 2007MY?

I’ve done mine today and whilst everything is working as it should, I’m just not entirely sure how the ECU is meant to be mounted. I’ve got it in the right location but just need to mount the ECU.

If anybody has any pointers or photographs I’d be grateful Smile

David, you need to cut the sound deadening material then double sided sticky tape the ECU to the inside of the panel next to the drivers left knee Thumbs Up

That’s where I thought it went Craig. Certainly where it is on the steps we fitted to our 2012.

However, after reading the instructions for the 07MY from topix is seems to live above the brake pedal behind the dash.

Shown on Page 9, step 46 on these instructions.

I wonder if that's a revision David? On every 07> I ever fitted, the ECU went into the same place as your father's 12MY... I wouldn't think the wiring would have been long enough to have fitted the ECU there??? Thumbs Up

Thanks Craig.

Will have a fiddle tomorrow. I was getting dragged out of the workshop to get the BBQ on at 7.30 this evening so will finish tidying the cables tomorrow and find somewhere to sit the ECU permanently. Thumbs Up
