you'll have to soften the bonding between the lens and light unit to remove it..

a strong clear silicon glue will do the job..there are many brands available.. ... - .- -.

There’s a video on the PowerfulUK site in which they “de-tango” some D3 headlights, swapping out the orange reflector for a clear one, by placing the headlights in an oven to soften the adhesive and separating the lens from light body.

I’m not sure the rear light lenses are as straightforward to replace as I think they’re plastic welded opposed using mastic which can be softened with heat per the headlights.

Yes, they are sonic welded together... I would simply break the old cover off bit by bit Careful NOT to touch any chrome inside as it'll be ruined by the oil in your skin... Then glue the replacement on using some form of PU |

have you considered looking on ebay for a replacement light unit...you might lucky and find cheap one.. ... - .- -.

No disrespect to PowerfulUK, great company I have used many times and I just love the videos!! However I replaced the lense on my L405 a few weeks back. Spent at least 3 hours on it and wasnt happy with the end result as you are effectivly guessing where to re-bond the new lense. I would go 2nd hand route. |
