Well as I said before "my conclusion: having done the job it looks ok to a casual observer but I know that it is not quite right!"
So off to ebay and found the exact unit, fitted it, and no lights will work at all on the ebay unit! So I either have a duff unit or I am missing something, I will sleep on it and get hold of a mate with a bit more electrical savvy than me to help.

your 2016 should have the old style lights so have you replaced with the newer 2018 style ones?

genuine 2018 style lights will not work on the 2013-2017 FF's unless you re-pin the connections or get an adaptor cable.. ... - .- -.

Hi Stan, previous owner upgraded the lights, I broke one and found identical replacement, all codes are the same, but it does not work. Production date of previous one was 22/11/2019, 18MY. SVO EC. NON WORKING UNIT : 13/01/2020 18MY SVO EC
I have therefore not tried to re cable as existing should match??
Any thoughts?

The re-pinning is usually done on the light unit, not the loom from the car - so you’ll need to re pin your new light unit - it’s a fairly simple process, there’s a ‘how to’ on here somewhere…

…here’s the re-pin you’ll need to undertake, the wires can be pulled out once you remove the red locking tab from the connector. Be sure to label the wires first, as they’re all black!

I'm in the process of changing the lens if anyone is interested

So far I have removed the old lens, it is plastic welded but very brittle so snaps off easy but leaves pieces in the groove which the locator ridges for the new lens sits in.

I'm going to bore out the grooves next I will keep updating

The lens from powerful are good quality/clarity but doesn't line up 100%
