Leaking F/R/H Spring

I have a leaking front R/H air spring.
I am capable of changing one myself and I have a diagnostic tool to deflate the spring safley etc.
Should I just change the one or is it better practice to change both front air springs at the same time.
Is the original part made by Delphi ?

in my opinion, you should always as good practice change things in pairs. i haven't done it on the FF yet as i haven't had it long enough....(touch wood)

but i did it on my Disco and as you say it's not too bad a job. i kept the good one as a spair, cos you never know when you will need one. Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

Firstly, originals are Delphi.

I replaced both fronts a couple of weeks ago because the shock absorber is an integral part of the assembly.
Fairly straightforward job.

There is a company in the US that does the replacement bags so it's a bit cheaper. Have a look round rangerovers.net/forums

Hi Rob

Where did you order your parts from. I purchased my strut from Island 4x4 cost was 249.99 +vat best price around. My strut was caused by a stone or the like cutting the bag. Only changed drivers side as the other was perfectly ok. Yes easy to replace just had trouble with bolts that connect to hub, they were stuck solid. Discovery 3.9

The maker of the replacement airbag alone is Arnott in Florida. The 2 replacement bags cost $400 or about the same amount as one replacement strut (GBP243) retail. In addition, though, you need to add a minimum of 1 hour to r&r the airbags on the old struts, so to compare you are realistically looking at about GBP175/side with just the Arnott bags (and old shocks) vs. GBP245/side with new OEM struts.

I have the Arnott airbags on my RR - they are good quality, but if the Delphi struts would have been available at that price a year ago, I would've gone with those.

You don't even need to deflate the system to change the struts: drop to access height and then jack the car up. The very small residual pressure - if any - can easily be let out by cracking a line or 2.

Stan that defeats the object of a RR me thinks.
I wonder where you would stand with insurance if you changed to coils as the L322 has never had them therfore they wouldn't be manufacturer type approved.
I bet the insurance would say yep but that will be megga bucks !!!

Ugh. No, castrating a RR is not the way to go.

Yes, coils are somewhat cheaper - the air suspension needs attention (maintenance) every 5-7 years. The advantages are much greater than the drawbacks tho.

Are the rear air spring more "relaible" than the front ? or should I expect them to be giving up the ghost anytime soon ?
