There is a company in the US that does the replacement bags so it's a bit cheaper. Have a look round rangerovers.net/forums |

Hi Rob Where did you order your parts from. I purchased my strut from Island 4x4 cost was 249.99 +vat best price around. My strut was caused by a stone or the like cutting the bag. Only changed drivers side as the other was perfectly ok. Yes easy to replace just had trouble with bolts that connect to hub, they were stuck solid. The maker of the replacement airbag alone is Arnott in Florida. The 2 replacement bags cost $400 or about the same amount as one replacement strut (GBP243) retail. In addition, though, you need to add a minimum of 1 hour to r&r the airbags on the old struts, so to compare you are realistically looking at about GBP175/side with just the Arnott bags (and old shocks) vs. GBP245/side with new OEM struts.
You don't even need to deflate the system to change the struts: drop to access height and then jack the car up. The very small residual pressure - if any - can easily be let out by cracking a line or 2. RRC 2Dr, RRC 4Dr, P38, and 2 L322s (wife thinks I'm nuts - prob right, too) |

Ugh. No, castrating a RR is not the way to go.

Are the rear air spring more "relaible" than the front ? or should I expect them to be giving up the ghost anytime soon ?
