Scotland 2008 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Stornoway Grey

Did second gearbox oil and filter change. The first filter I put in a few weeks ago wasn't original equipment. I wasn't happy with it and so, as I was doing a second oil change, decided to change for Filtran OE. Much more impressive. The pattern filter didn't seem to sit in properly whereas the Filtran clicks into place. Well maybe not "clicks" but it does go in very positively. At my age it's quite a change to have something go in positively. Embarassed John

Played with new Cleaning Toys today!

Christmas has come and gone, I was lucky to receive a Karcher K4 pressure washer and snow foam attachment.

Given I haven't washed the car since August, seemed a good time to try them out. I purchased some of this to go with it:

As you can see, a dirty FFRR!

Only snow we are likely to see this year. Followed the instructions and used @ 30% solution in the 1/2 litre container, which just about did the whole car.

Not a bad result, although the pressure washer had to shift the really ingrained dirt, and to get it really clean I'll have to go over it by hand, but not bad, and a lot less effort!

Having some new lower arms and ball joints to fit, I thought better get on with it today before weather turns for the worst again. 1 arm done, drivers side, both ball joints need changing but that near side arm will not budge off the ball joint Big Cry
Going to garage to sort it, bloody green ovals, don't you just hate them at times!

I did my rear diff oil change. Out with old brownish fluid, in with synthetic red fluid. Tip- it's difficult to squeeze last half litre from bottle. I used two 1 litre pots and got about 1.5 litres in decanting under the car. . Also, remove top filler to make sure it undoes before draining.you need a set of drain removing plugs as the key is quite a big one unlikely to be in you Allen key range. Getting more oil to do front. Job took 15mins I think. On stands

Is the snow foam method a sort of no sponge needed way to wash, or is it a no bucket needed, ie you use your sponge on an always wet car etc. I always have issues racing round my car to keep it wet, I do it in 4 sections. The snow foam might be a method I would try. I have a larches 5 series.
I thought karchers just made lines in long term grime. There's no such thing as an easy car wash, is there.

Snow foam is designed as a pre was to remove 90% loose dirt/grime. Then you can safely wash the car using 2 bucket method without moving dirt around in the paintwork.

Although if the cars is relatively clean I give it a quick jet wash then snow foam and run round and sponge the car down with a rinse bucket.

For me personally snow foam alone is now use, as I said it leaves it 90% clean Range Rover Vogue 2006 4.4 AJV8 | Buckingham Blue | Parchment Leather | Supercharged Grill+Side Vents | CA02 HEY ( NOT 02 PLATE )

Agree with Mark, it is not the be all and end all. I followed "advice" (I read somewhere...?) and put the snow foam on a dry car, whereas I would normally wet the car before any soapy stuff. Rinsed/jet washed off after @ 7 minutes, no streaks.

Just pleased that the Karcher kit made snow foam that stuck on the car, as I had also read many users had been disappointed with the performance. For me couldn't have been better, was like a snow machine at the Olympics Smile

Will get the sponge out next time Smile .
