I too get a kind of whistle on my TDV8 4.4 that is only noticeable in summer months when the windows are open, just after acceleration and you let off the gas pedal... Sound a bit like air brakes... big truck like... I kinda like it though... |

I was thinking that but no engine lights or faults displayed. Any way of checking if I have a leak? |

Someone a lot more knowledgeable than I will probably say something more clever but I would get it in for a high pressure smoke test?

Other cars are known for having waste gate sealing issues, usually identified by reduced boost pressure. Is it possible to check the boost pressure against the ‘norm’ to eliminate this as an issue. The fix is adjustment of the waste gate actuator arm. 2010 TDV8 3.6 Galway Green |

I’ve had Rosie in to my local specialist for a code read. No loss of boost on the codes but a turbo actuator fault. They have lubed the actuator and reset the error but whistle still present. It’s not causing any issues so far, but would like to prevent anything serious if possible. She is back in for a full service and transmission flush in a couple of weeks so will see if they notice anything else. That’s you all for the suggestions. Mark |
