Recommendations for a 4.4V8 Diesel Jump start pack please>

Hi,

We have a 4.4 diesel V8

Often get a flat battery for no reason.

Under normal circumstances `I am heading towards critical ferry links and deadlines. Can anyone recommend a good compact battery boost / starter pack please?

I used to disconnect mine , might be sensible getting a cut off switch fitted.

How old is your battery? Have you checked it is the correct sized AGM?

I was watching for the recommendation of a good jump start pack.... just in case....

Though I know I need another battery really....

These cars do seem to struggle to even power the clock, when left to their own devices 🤣 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

One of the bigger NOCO ones - GB50 or GB70.

I've also been watching.
I bought two of these two years ago
https://www.halfords.com/motoring/battery-...tsid:94971|cid:8979078122|agid:94446539727|tid:pla-329023466368|crid:412800843095|nw:g|rnd:6955242974681161046|dvc:c|adp:|mt:|loc:9046086&src=3bpdp&gclid=CjwKCAjw1uiEBhBzEiwAO9B_Habgz8w_1PZUuMI4hldfqqYYbJA6MoSTVpdI5P5_WQ0epEMf3xyn4hoCjYYQAvD_BwE
But from Amazon at the time.
I took one back home to Zimbabwe for my D3 there and the other one I use here.
I've had battery problems with my SC (re- I needed a new battery but couldn't be arsed to buy one as I was going back to work and it was parked up for another 4 months!)
This pack sorted me but it was short-term. I've since put a new battery in and cleared most of my problems in the SC with my GAP OBD tool because the battery is nice and fresh.
Hope this helps!!
To answer your question, the battery pack is a short-term answer.

I've had a NOCO GB70 for a few months now and it's been fantastic.
Much better than the giant lead acid pack I have. Its started various cars more than a dozen times already, including our 3.6tdv8 maybe 6 times - all on its first charge.
Whatever the car battery state, after attaching & waiting a minute, they spin over at normal speed & start immediately. Paul,

GB70 here, but I am installing a dual battery system from Traxide:

http://www.traxide.com.au/diy-dual-battery...t90-s.html

These cars need 2 batteries I think. I also plan to clean(contact cleaner ) all the contacts from alternator > starter > battery to make sure there is no resistance in the circuit etc

Ironically since I got my GB70 a few years ago I haven’t had a problem. I have helped a few other though - works a treat Thumbs Up Geoff

Thanks for the replies.

Same issues again the other day ... "chunk" when pressing start. Realeased handbrake, it started.

Ive not gone down The NOCO route. Ive ordered a cheaper version, up-to 8l Diesel for £70. Its a bigger version to the one I keep in Spain that has been brilliant for 5 years.

You sure it’s the battery and not the starter motor?
