I just went out to investigate a bit more and when I disconnected the DSP I noticed the connectors were a bit moist, not wet, but just a bit damp and the residue was a bit dirty. I gave them a quick wipe and plugged them all back in and the amber light on the screen unit still not light up and now the backlight of the screen comes on but no graphics. I have now disconnected the DSP to leave to air a bit and then I'll give the connectors a proper clean and then refit this afternoon to see if that helps, otherwise, I feel a new unit or DSP repair job is in order. An option will be grey on the menu screen, and then removed if the unit does not identify itself on the ibus.

I think thats fed from the Sat Nav unit. It might have defaulted to something strange with the DSP not there.

The option has completely gone from the home screen, does that mean that the DSP is not working at all? I have also now noticed a greyed out "Code" option the home screen now as well. The DSP has not identified itself on the ibus network, so removed from the menu. If you can get it going, it should reappear. Helps your troubleshooting at least. I can’t remember the colour of the ibus wire. Might be white or white and something. The Workshop manual is available for download in the Wiki.

It looks like the DSP is dead so I'm going to send it off for repair.

What are you quoted for a repair? They go for £100-150 on eBay so don’t get ripped off. You can repin to the non dsp amp too not far off same power and speakers less agro, or as I said aftermarket amp. As I’ve said before it’s nice to keep it stock but you will be replacing a knackered nav drive, phone module, screen going green, amp going bang, changer every year. I would gut it and get the ibus interface on your year that will surpass the car integration that it has coupled with a nice erisin 10.25 head unit for £200 and maybe an amp. You could if you really wanted keep all the old system bits safe and look for a bargain amp so when you sell it you have all the stock bits. Personally I didn’t .
