Newly released this week there's a dashcam set up for the late model JLR cars... I fitted one on my 2013 L405 today and they are fantastic... You get F & R cameras, a loom that plugs into the main interior light binnacle giving the power source for the kit, NO wiring! NO splicing wires! Just a simple plug & play setup!

You get an app where you can set up the cameras, set the features you want to use and you can view the camera feed on your device! Making setup a breeze...

The Front camera simply fits near the rearview mirror. You get a black textured sticker to fit to the screen before applying the double-sided patch that the camera mount sticks to... This allows for the removal of the camera in a couple of seconds! Therefore those that are security-minded or leaving the vehicle in long-term storage that wants the camera out?

The hardest part of the installation for me was running the rear camera cable through the boot lid so my rear camera looked as well fitted as the front one! The rear one fits using the same sticker and double-sided patch deal as the front one. The main difference being, you can change the angle of the rear camera by rotating the body very easily! This means the kit can be fitted to New Defender, L494, Disco Sport, and New Ewok etc etc...

Picture quality was brilliant, reversing with the rear cam on the app and comparing it to the quality of the reverse cam, I would say the Dashcam rear cam was a better quality picture by far, even looking through privacy glass!!!

It's a Defender accessory and cost is £695 which is a hell of a lot less than a Blackvue etc and hopefully doesn't give a Low Battery warning!! Does the LR have a Parking mode, Craig? All LR cars from 1984

It has several settings for park mode Chalky...

Well... It wont be plug & play BUT... There are only 3 wires to it, + - & ign so could easily be adapted to any vehicle... And you get the app

Was the rear wiring in place Craig? Just had a look at the instructions and they seem to show a cable needs to be threaded to the back??
