I think if you can get a positive to the starter and an earth somewhere then you could have enough to power the doors to get in. Not sure of a battery charger is the correct thing or another battery. It's been covered on here before, have a search about for it.

You can always charge via the towbar sockets if yours is fitted with towing electrics. BMW i3 Electric Car

Nothing stopping you fitting a 13 pin electrics socket on its own without a towbar and use that in future. I have one and never tow! Thanks for the info and ideas gents, mobile mechanic was able to slip in through the passenger door and open bonnet, he was way slimmer than me ๐. new Lion AGM battery fitted from Euro Car Parts (just north of ยฃ200) and external charge lead fitted and left dangling from grill (temporarily). She really turns over fast now! Engine warning light is now on but it drives fine, will have to see if it sorts itself out or if I need to get her reset. Great forum ๐ |

Thanks DHallworth but Iโm all out of bad luck now, nothing but good luck on the horizon....That and Iโm thinking of jumping ship to an L405 after this pandemic eases, despite not liking the shape. As long as it last that long then Iโm happy ๐ |
