United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Barolo Black
FBH

Sorry if this is a dumb question but i have a 2012 4.4 TDV8 Vogue would this have come with a FBH? if so how would i know?
I do not have a remote key for it but that may have been lost by a prev owner.

i do have a clicking sound when i start the car on very cold mornings it is more of a ticking like a boiler pilot trying to light. it stops when the car has warmed up. scanning the car leave me no wiser. i can set the fans to come on in the mornings but they just blow cold air around nothing more.

Have a look for 'timed climate' in the infotainment system -- also rear right cubby box by the fuse panel, look for small fag packet sized black box with a Webasto label Current: 2011 FFRR Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

If it's ticking it sounds like you have an FBH> Also the ticking starts at about one per second and then two per second after 2/3 minutes. The exhaust for the unit is to the inside rear of the FNS wheel arch, you'll feel the pipe hot and the exhaust gas outlet. If you have a remote start receiver unit in the rear right cubby, I think it is marked T90 or T91 and Webasto as Bushy says.

I'll stand to be corrected, but I undestand all '11 on 4.4TDV8s came with one fitted. Cheers

Yes you have FBH. If you can set the fans (timed climate) then thats it. Two clock timers in the settings ? Yes ??

It also sounds like your's isn't working fully, fans yes, burner, no. Have a look in the Wiki, there is information on how it works and where all the componants are.

I've had the same issue with mine, fans but no heat. It got better and more or less fully functional after a lot of cycles, as in set it running every day and it comes to life. During summer it's rarely if ever use or available to use (upper external tempretures) so I think the system becomes "Sticky" for want of a better term ??

So keep setting it and it may come back to life.

You can get another second hand remote fob and programme it. Again others on here have done it, its all in the Wiki !

Set it to come on with you standing on the passenger side and you’ll hear a series of clicks then it trying to fire up. Clouds of thick smoke coming from underneath the engine bay will confirm its running if it hasn’t been used for a while!

I’m a newbie FF owner and the 1st time mine switched on I thought the engine was on fire Laughing Current collection :

Laughing The first time mine worked was outside Halfords. Staff came running out with a fire extinguisher. Rolling with laughter

Have a very close look at the plug that goes onto the fsr, mine has over heated at the main 12volt feed and melted the plug a bit, new plug on order. Temp fix has it working at the moment.

Common BMW fault you can buy the plug on the bay either with or without the fsr

That's the one.
You'll need the remote with the on/off buttons not the wavy line/off unit.

Pics somewhere on here. 'll link if Ifind them.

Edit
this was sold last week.
