Thanks Phoenix.

The backplates, shoes, fitting kit and handbrake cables are all new.

The discs were given a good brush with a wire brush on the insides of the drum and then cleaned with brake cleaner before being refitted. We’ll see what happens tomorrow and go from there I reckon. If it passes I’ll deal with it next September, if it doesn’t I’ll deal with it this week Laughing

I’ve read a few times on here that the 8 clicks is too much and 6 is much better. Fingers crossed for the mot!

Well that was one hell of an essay too read up on. Sounds like it's been one hell of a rebuild but I'd imagine it's def worth it mate.

Fingers crossed sails through the mot, get the alignment done and then time too give the noisy pedal a test I'd say

Allen

Cheers guys Smile

Sitting patiently waiting. Am nervous this morning. Don't think I've ever been this nervous for an MOT before... I've never done this much work to a car either though I guess!

Will have a cheeky look online and see if it's passed late morning/lunch time and go from there!

I know how you feel! I was incredibly nervous while waiting for my CT here in France. However, the big difference is that your car is basically new!

You will be fine (but I am still excited about the result for you),

I just ran out of patience so looked up the MOT history online.

She’s passed the MOT without so much as an advisory so the handbrake must have done the trick Very Happy

Relieved is an understatement. Can’t wait for the first drive home tonight now.

Then the only job left is to hand over £600 to the DVLA and we’re motoring again!

Thank you Smile I'm pleased it's finished!

Ugh... As excited as I am to be getting the car back fully sorted today, paying £620 for a years road tax (or vehicle excise duty if you like) still isn't funny Sad Anyway, it's over and done with now and she's taxed for a year.

Oh well, it'll be an expensive day...

Alignment, MOT and Air Con Recharge
Road tax
Full tank of fuel

🙈

Bring it on though Smile It'll all pale into insignificance when I'm driving her home. 2002 4.6 Vogue SE - Alveston Red with Lightstone Leather

Aint that the truth!

The front and rear suspension work I did wasn't too expensive, the brakes weren't expensive, the big bills came in when I started doing the engine work. I think the engine work totalled around £4k.

£4k isn't such a big bill when running an elderly RR. You've proably extended its life by 10 years.
