United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Baltic Blue

Sure!

Bilt Hamber Hydrate 80. Bought 1 500ml bottle, haven’t used all of it.

https://bilthamber.com/product/hydrate-80/

Deox-Gel. Bought a 1 litre tub. I used this stuff under the body on rust I couldn’t get a wire brush on the angle grinder into. Burst the bubbles with a hand wire brush, then brush it on, cover it in cling film or pallet wrap, leave 2hrs and wash off. Still some left.

https://bilthamber.com/product/deox-gel/

Deox-C I wouldn’t buy again, well, not for this job anyway. I bought it to treat nuts and bolts. I mixed it into a bucket, then put the nuts and bolts into it. This was a mistake as all of the LR nuts and bolts are zinc coated. This stuff destroyed the zinc coating so I had to replace a load of reusable nuts and bolts. I’ve got a friend who swears by it though.

Zinc Galvanising Spray - Bought 4 tins, used 2.

https://www.screwfix.com/p/no-nonsense-zin...tid=551063

Epoxy Mastic I bought 2 tins of the black. I bent some welding rod and put it in the chuck of the drill and blasted the tin of mastic before adding the hardener to mix it up as you could feel the plastic part of the mastic at the bottom of the tin. I then added the hardener and mixed it like mad again with the drill and kept giving it a mix as I used it. I had the subframe and all 4 wishbones blasted, I used an entire tin of this on them, I then used the entire 2nd tin doing the underside of the car above where the subframe sits, into the rear arches and along the cills.

https://bilthamber.com/product/epoxy-mastic/

I also bought a tin of Dynax-S50 cavity wax and sprayed this inside the rear subframe and inside all of the wishbones. One tin of this was plenty.

https://bilthamber.com/product/dynax-s50/

Hope this helps Smile

Made a start on removing the LPG tonight.

All of the pipe work, reducers, flashlube, etc. are now removed from the front end.

I then went into the ECU box and started to remove the LPG ECU. It’s amazing the amount of wiring that goes with this!

I had to cut the wiring for the 8 injectors and remove them from the LPG loom.

I then started the process of remaking the loom to the injectors. Unfortunately the cables aren’t quite long enough so I’m having to solder in a little piece of wire as an extension. It’s not difficult, just time consuming. There’s multiples of the same colour cables so having to make sure I’m joining the right ones referencing the wiring diagram and checking with the meter as I’m going.

Just need to be able to open the boot (difficult when the battery is removed) to be able to get to the tank end of the wiring now. I’d filled it with LPG a couple of days before it went into the shed too so it’s sitting with a FULL tank of LPG so lifting that Censored out will be fun!

LPG kit now fully removed apart from the tank now as I need power back into the car to open the tailgate to lift the tank out.

Wiring loom has now been completely reinstated without the LPG injector wiring in it’s place.

The wait for the camshafts is killing me at the moment… driving me round the bend as it’s the only thing stopping reassembly. 😩

Got this back from Powerhouse today…

I rebuilt the snout myself but when I noticed the snout needed some material removing to fit the 6% pulley I chickened out and sent it along with the pulley I’d bought back to Powerhouse to get it fitted.

Just a shame I’m not fitting it now as I’ve bought a brand new old stock Supercharger to fit as I’m building it all back up once the cams have finally been delivered.

It's a decision I'm wrestling with with my sport 4.2. Do I or don't I do the pulley upgrade ?? .
I'm pulling the supercharger soonish for a snout rebuild.

I bought a Supercharger on eBay last year and when I was about to rebuild it a few weeks ago I noticed a hairline crack in the casing after I’d rebuilt the snout so I’ve got a spare snout here that’s been completely rebuilt with new bearings and an oil seal if it’s any use to you.

I’ve also got this snout with the pulley on it that I’m going to refit to the Supercharger that I’ve put new case bearings in too.

Dave, Just caught up with this thread, I'll stop asking silly questions now...

You must have the patients of a saint I'd have used a gallon of petrol and a match on it by now... hope the reassembly is uneventful... Thumbs Up Pete

Cheers Pete Smile

It's been fairly trying at times! There can't be many nuts & bolts that I've not undone on this car now!

Looking forward to having it all finished off I must admit. Hoping to see the cams by the end of this week so I can start trying to set the valve clearances at the weekend.
