Interesting comparison.

Recently I helped a mate drop a uprated Swift tune built engine into his 1964 Mini, yet it looks bog standard.
Yesterday we went for the first extended 'Run in' drive, around North Wales ( After a little tinkering, as you do )
Thought some people would like the RR / Mini 'Comparison' photos, a real case of 'chalk n cheese' and the Mini is Soooo easy to work on. 1380 lb's V's 5379 lb's kerb weight !!!!!

Hope people like the pics Thumbs Up

Ah yes, fond memories of my 2 seat mini van Very Happy
Unbelievable how much you could get in the back too. Mind you, 6 up did mean it was rubbing the back wheels Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

My mate had a Dolomite Sprint but couldn't keep up with me on twisty country roads as the mini would go round corners like nothing else Shocked 2021 D350 Fifty Edition

Thank you for the comments on the pics, last time I drove the Mini it was a blast - once it's run in, the owner is going to let me have another go Very Happy as I am still on his policy for going on Classic car rally's, the type where you have to keep to the speed limits Whistle Whistle Rolling with laughter

Ah yes, fond mini memories. Those grazed knuckles from changing the oil filter. Forever, having to replace the centre bracket of the exhaust, and keeping the rust at bay. Loved my Clubman estate and the subsequent standard car. Great fun to drive, probably more than the modern ones. My JCW scares me in a way my old Minis never did...

My lower back problems started shortly after returning from honeymoon. We were skint so did a driving holiday to a relative’s house in western France. Just a six hour drive from Cherbourg in a Mini City. I’m 6’2”, so basically bent double with feet at an odd angle for all those journeys and eventually my back said ‘no more!’
