Think it's like most garages mate. If it's something like changing a fuel filter which takes less then 10 mins it ain't too bad but anything big will just hold the ramps up until they can say right we can get someone to work on it for 5 hours. I guess the important thing is tho mate, it seems like you've got a definitive answer on what the issue was. Might have taken a while but if it gets sorted then that's all that matters

So, was it the timing out one tooth?
So glad it's done as I was one of many who 'upped' Martin [though I've never used him, just went with what others have witnessed] & then found you had slight communication problems which made me feel bad.

So basically its all your fault fox. And bean haha

I dont know mate. As you say comms has been awful so I have no idea. Phone goes and its all done thats all sean said. But yesterday the email I had was it was booked in today so was assuming a long few days but they seemed to have done it in an hour or two so I am baffled but lets hipe it is fixed. I will get some form of warranty on it if it comes back etc. Dont want to drive off and then its something else. Current Cars

That seems pretty reasonable Smile

Given the amount of time it was in the garage you've not been charged many hours labour. It certainly sounds like they've come up trumps without breaking the bank. It doesn't look like they've charged you for obtaining the vehicle to compare it against or doing the comparison looking at that.

I'd stop criticism until the car is back in your hands tbh.

The garage isn't going to be best pleased if they get wind of this thread.

Good luck getting it sorted

Customer service is just as important as fixing the issue in my opinion.

You can be the best mechanic in the world but surely a good customer experience counts as well 👍 Current Cars

I collected my other Land Rover from the garage today, the plastic seat cover was still in place as was the piece of plastic on the floor mat. Bearing in mind that the garage is supposed be to wiping down the steering wheel, door handles, gear shift etc due to COVID, this clearly wasn't done. I had to wash my hands when I got home due to all the dirt that came off the steering wheel. I'm beginning to think that some garages are not interested in the customer experience except for when that customer hands over the payment. Reading through comments on this forum over the past few months it would appear this is not just main dealers but also some independents. It's a real shame because there are some great garages out there with knowledgeable and helpful staff who become tarred with the same brush through no fault of their own. 2011 TDV8 Vogue SE
