Scotland 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Santorini Black

My 1971 was 'Sahara Dust' a sort of fawn colour with colour coded rear pillars, no rear wiper, no carpets, fixed seat belts, it was still luxurious compared to the other Land Rover products of the day.

FFS I've just sold my FFRR and you go and start this thread... MARTIN please move this to somewhere it will not get me shot Laughing

My first was an '83 V8 Fleetline 4 Door in beige.. Second, technically the wifes a 1990 TD (VM Whistle ) In Blue.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned that the "Classic" was a Range rover of a certain year.. rather than the first Rangie model. It even came with a Classic badge. Probably on the run out to the release of the P38's as thats a typical car sales kind of stunt.

My Dad's first Range Rover was a 1974 Sahara Beige 2 door. It was all the rage to paint the centre swage lines down the car a different colour, so it had a poo brown 10" stripe down the sides!

Back in the day, looked great, anyone got a picture of such a car? My parents never took pics, only I did when I was old enough to know I loved the RR's. Discovery 4 HSE

For most of its history, it was known simply as the "Range Rover"; Land Rover coined the term "Range Rover Classic" for the brief period the model was built alongside its P38A successor, and applied the name retrospectively to all first-generation Range Rovers.[1]

they became Classics with the run out model - only when the P38 was launched - Classic production continued for a short while alongside the P38. A true original Classic should only have the soft dash derived from the discovery and a bonded windscreen.

edit Gaz you beat me too it!

how many of us on here are still running Classics? I still have one of mine with very low miles, no rot and original in every way apart from slightly larger 235 tyres

I can think of lots of things to retrospectively call all of my past cars Laughing Just because Wiki says it doesn't make it fact. Thumbs Up The Classics came with one of these...

Where upon all the Wannabes stuck them on and spawned children who today stick these on.
