Engine system fault

Hi guys, I’ve got a bit of a problem with my 2007 full fat range 3.6 tdv8. So basically this fault has happened to me twice, got the old “engine system fault” then into limp mode put the computer on it and it’s saying p023d but this fault only happens once it’s been driving for awhile. As such I’ve done 55miles no problem, I stopped for 10 mins driving another 30miles then it come up but only while cruising at 70mph. Switch off restart good as good no problems. Hoses have been replaced and turbo actuators are moving with the computer tester. So I’m stuck any ideas?
Thanks guys

Hi could well be the cracked inlet manifold which is pretty common. Have a search on here and there are quite a few posts on it.

You can do a test with soapy water to check it and normally it's the right hand side that goes (UK drivers one). Failing that it could be the lower hoses if they haven't been done. Current 2007 TDV8 Vogue Buckingham Blue

Hi I haven’t checked the lower hoses yet so I’ll give them a go next. I’ve heard they can be a nightmare to fix but not sure tho? I’ll have a look at the manifold but this is gonna sound weird but they look newish but I’ll check the with the soapy water and see what happens. Really weird tho as driving for all those miles and it was perfect then boom that happened. Bloody pain

William spend a little bit of mooney and get a HIGH pressure smoke test done. My pax inlet manifold had hairline crack which didn't show up until I got a HP smoke test done. Cost £1600 for new manifold (involves a new injector harness or stg!)

My inlet manifold looked brand new when it needed replacing and I couldn't see the split and as you have done it would drive for miles then let go. Found the leak with some soapy water sprayed on. May be easier if you have someone rev it too while you spray it on.

Lower hoses aren't too difficult. Lefthand side one simple enough right side a bit more tricky but perfectly doable but no where as easy as the top. Failing that as suggested a smoke test would be the next step. Either DIY cigar in a can job or professional job at a garage. Professional will obviously be better but may not always be necessary Current 2007 TDV8 Vogue Buckingham Blue

Hi guys I’ve booked in for a pressure test but he can’t do the smoke test. Does anyone know who can do a smoke test in the Essex area?
Thanks guys

I'm not sure a pleasure test will do much good as you know there is a boost leak somewhere already so you need smoke to come out to pinpoint where is from.

Hopefully someone can give you a suggestion that's nearby. If your any good at doing work yourself is not hard with the right now of it that are cheap enough. YouTube had lots of videos to DIY it out you're prepared to give it a go. Good luck Current 2007 TDV8 Vogue Buckingham Blue
