Tracker Locations

Good afternoon,

I understand why LR wouldn't want to advertise where a tracker is fitted in the vehicle. However, I'm both experiencing a battery drain and my vehicle paperwork indicates a tracker is fitted but I don't have the details - e.g. serial number - that as a new owner I could register it.

So, are there "common" locations for the tracker on the L322 that I could narrow the search? Laughing

Kind regards,

N

For very obvious reasons, I'm sure nobody, especially L322 owners would publicise this information. BMW i3 Electric Car

2006 VW Touareg 3.0 TDi V6

Fair point.

On closer inspection of my paperwork I found the "Customer Registration Form" which contains the serial number and installation position Wink

Software problems can cause battery drains on 322s. On my 2012 WM the first time it was the fuel burning heater software (is it under 5 degrees in Shetland yet?) and the second time it was the central locking software. In each case the battery was completely flattened. The solution was to have the dealer do a diagnostic check and then deal with the software fault. It seems that battery discharge in that way can cause it to be unable to hold charge properly in future, and I was told that this could be tested only once the battery has been fully charged. The first time the battery was no longer viable (about a year old), the replacement was OK.

So I suggest a diagnostic check, if you need a main dealer to do it then presumably Aberdeen is the nearest? Only Range Rovers since 1988

CS,

Thanks for this useful information. I've raised a separate post for the battery drain and the steps I've tried so far. Just purchased a GAP Diagnostics IID tool so will run a full scan as a priority!

Cheers,

N
