Seat Belt Engine Stop

Please can someone point me in the direction of the criteria that causes the vehicle to switch off when the drivers seatbelt is released.

I’m sure I’ve read it somewhere, but damned if I can find it again.

Many thanks.

If you have stop / start enabled and it activates when you stop, if you remove your seatbelt the ignition will auto shut off, gearbox goes to P if you open the door Thumbs Up

Many thanks for that.

It’s bloody annoying when you’re waiting for someone, you release the seatbelt (before switching off) and everything, including the radio switches off. I can see the logic, but still bloody annoying.

I might disable the stop/start before releasing the belt and see if that prevents it.

My understanding (experience) is that Start/Stop does not need to have stopped the engine (but it needs to be switched on). If the car is put into Park, and the hand brake applied, then he drivers seat belt unlatched then the engine will switch off.

Jon
Many thanks for further clarification, that’s actually the scenario I had in my head. I’m thinking switch off stop/start before releasing the belt may work.
