RED TRIANGLE Warning: Restricted Performance

Hello, I wonder if anyone can shine any light on a notice which has appeared on my 2014 RR 4.4 SDV8 dash display. It reads...Restricted Performance RED TRIANGLE. No reason why this has happened other than I'm carrying 4 x 100L bags of bark in the boot. Would this be too heavy?

I know I lot less about these cars compared to others on here, but, this happened to me the other day & was due to hitting 3000rpm on a 'spirited emergence from a roundabout onto a main road' I needed some oooomph & by golly she had it......but then I got the message RP. The L322 TDV8 runs sequential turbos (not sure about yours) & it's possible the second turbo actuator got stuck?
If you lock the car, walk away & return in 30 mins, there's a good chance she'll be fine.
Let us know what happens. 2012 Orkney Grey Westminster 4.4TDV8 with Ivory interior.........nice!

There's lots on here ref Restricted performance (RP). Search is your friend.

It's likely you have an air leak either in one of your plenum pipes on top of the engine or a cracked manifold or a host of other possible causes.

Check your pipe connections. sometimes it is as simple as a loose jubilee clip. lets hope so. Replacement manifolds are over £1500.

Thank you so much for your reply and thoughts. In short; I locked the car, walked away and came back in 30 mins. All appears to be fine. I took it around the block to see if anything changed but it appears to be okay. I'll let you know if it re-occurs.

BTW do you know what the manufacture's recommended service interval is by mileage not time? When I last had it serviced last May it was just over 50,000 miles and RR LR garage carried out an 80,000 mile service as they said that this was due? I have clocked up about 58,500 since last service but the Message Centre is alerting another service is due?

So, is there a chance you gave her 'the big 'un' in the right foot department like I did?
Glad it's ok, the Indy who looked at mine also recommended a dose of fuel/EGR cleaner to help the second turbo.
I haven't tried mine since but I have read that the actuator can get a little sticky. 2012 Orkney Grey Westminster 4.4TDV8 with Ivory interior.........nice!

They do seem to appreciate the occasional Italian tune up rather than constant gentle treatment - or at least that';s what I keep telling myself Thumbs Up

Used to be a transponder for Tolls such as the Dartford Crossing. Now replaced with an account & ANPR. May still be in use though at some sites. 2003 Range Rover Vogue TD6

Telepeage tags for the french autoroutes Thumbs Up

It means you don't have to take a ticket and pay at the booth - the tag in the windscreen is detected & you are charged directly.

As you leave the toll booth, it's tempting to have the drag race start & get back up to speed Whistle

@op.

The servicing is done on time (a year), mileage (if earlier) and the oil condition. So if, as mine did, you have oil dilution percentage of over 7, it will signal a service earlier. This oil dilution is caused by the dpf forced regeneration system which pumps excess fuel into the dpf to raise the temp to burn off dpf soot. This however could be a sign of your dpf filling up more, not regenning properly, due to an air leak.
