Low brake pedal / brake pedal travel after bleeding

hi all,

I've just replaced the rear flexible hoses on my 2010 3.6 TDV8 as one side was leaking at the metal section mounted to the upper control arm.

I have bled the system starting n/s rear, o/s rear, n/s front and finally o/s front. (Father in the car operating the pedal)

The brakes used to come in at about half way down the pedal but now they are lower but doesn't feel spongy.

I should note my car has 6 pot brembos fitted to the front as per supercharged.

Is there anything else I can try or do I just need to bleed again?

My brakes have never come in at the top of the pedal like owners of 6 pot equipped cars suggest so maybe there is an issue elsewhere?

Has the fluid been changed when due..? If you don't change it water gets in the system and can corrode inside the master cylinder, under normal use the piston only moves a short way and keeps the seal and cylinder wall at that position clean. When you bleed it the piston moves its entire stroke, any corrosion will damage the piston seal and lead to a small internal leak, this can lead to a low pedal and eventually a visible leak, there have also been cases of the seal flipping over as you ask it to make the full travel...

Just one possibility... could be a host of issues... have you had a code read.... Pete

I experienced same thing after pad change.
Some bleeding helped in my situation. 2010 3.6tdv8 180k km.

Thanks for the tips everyone.

I rebled the system yesterday using a Gunson Ezibleed which uses pressure from the spare tyre to force fluid through the system.

Brakes feel much better now 👍
