Our Td6 when you turn it off after a drive sounds like a jumbo jet engine shutting down (albeit nowhere near as loud), only for a few seconds. Never noticed it before (or paid much attention to it maybe)

Viscous fan coupling, could be duff so builds the fan up slowly when running and hasn’t got the friction to slow it down on shut down. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Northernmonkey - is it a hard job to replace? And can it be left for a while as I have a few more pressing jobs to do first

The other chaps could be on the right track with the FBH. It does sound a bit jet engine when running.

See if the noise is loudest in the passenger side wheel arch area. That is where the FBh is located. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

It is actually around the passenger side wheel arch, yes... Only for about 15 seconds maybe after turning the RR off

I had no idea it has an FBH, and have never used it
