Yes it does have cvd - which is why I'm surprised that the cornering isn't better. The ride itself is great though. 2010 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE |

The ride on mine is far better than my previous D4 was on 255/55R19 even after new genuine LR shocks had just been fitted to the D4. I got sick of shock valving compromises after several different sets trying to get a smooth ride over varying surfaces so changed to a L322 with CVDs. I'm constantly astounded as to how smooth the L322's ride is at 100 kph on the local secondary roads around here. My only reservation is their high replacement cost but I won't ever go back to standard shocks if I can avoid it. But as I stated earlier, my tyres are 275/55R20 with more sidewall than 255/50R20 although with a higher load index countering to some extent the softer ride of taller sidewalls. |

I think some of the difference in our experiences Graeme will be down to where we live.

Just to let you know the Terrain Response system needs the CV dampers connected

Even if adaptive damping is disabled in the CCF? GGDR |

Craig’s earlier suggestion would answer your question.

Sadly I cannot yet disable adaptive dynamics in the CCF to test as I do not have an IID tool.

Hi GraemeS. Is your speedo way out with the 275/55/20? |

You haven't seen my rutted 2km farm driveway and 4 km rough gravel lane out to the sealed road! However I raise the suspension 30mm for this section using my height controller to prevent the front suspension from hitting the bump-stops, which is not good for the body, neither mine nor the car.

Fair enough Graeme. I've been considering putting 275 45 20's on which works out -7mm diameter. 275 55 20's are +47mm and would have expected more speedo error than that. Thanks. |

I'm running 275/45r20 on my L322 5.0 S/C, and I reckon the speedo over reads by a couple of mph.

Thanks Paul. Perhaps I should have started another thread. I don't understand why tyre sites recommend 275/40/20 as a suitable replacement when it is clearly to small a diameter. |

Mine was harsh & felt like the wheels ripped off if you hit a bump.
