have you checked in the engine compartment especially at the rear of the engine...the L322 4.4 tdv8 suffers from oil cooler leakage which can cause oil smells to enter the inside.. ... - .- -.

Very common. Mine does this , the fbh vents under the gear selector, which was utter genius, smells terrible tbh, not sure whether there is a re route kit but later cars don’t have this trouble . Might be a technical service bulletin , others will be along shortly .. |

Thanks for the replies so far guys. I’ll call LR tomorrow and see if there is a bulletin about it or hopefully some kit. I’ve only noticed it the last few days or so, and I’ve had the card for 3 years now. |

I occasionally get this on cold days. It is only occasional and short lived for me and I believe it can be quite problematic to fix so haven't bothered. There is a thread here: https://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic24543.html?highlight=fbh |

Mine is unbeareable depending on the wind, certainly very noxious. Never got round to fixing , should be easy enough to bodge a fix ? Not sure what the vent pipe looks like to check. |

Just thought I’d post an update. I spoke to Land Rover who said there wasn’t a Service Bulletin for my model for the preheater, but they found I had a leaking oil cooler which they suspect is the burning smell. Hopefully that will solve it! |
