So I bit the bullet yesterday and fitted the 019 AGM that had been sitting in my garage for two weeks.

This morning I pressed the FBH remote as it as 0°. I could hear it shining under the battery and then for the first time- a ticking sound from the rear!
This time it ran for around 5 minutes. Cold air was blowing from the FBH exhaust and then the ticking stopped.

The fuel Guage was showing just under 1/4 full with 110 mile range so had it cut out due to low fuel perhaps?

I’ve never heard this ticking before so we are getting somewhere. If did tick slow to start off with, then started speeding up- is that normal? 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

Ticking sounds fine, same as mine. The FBH seems to have to have two load levels, so I assume the pump starts on low and then to max if required. Cheers

I would also be interested to know if the ATC module assesses fuel for the FBH, the workshop manuals don’t mention fuel levels only temperatures and voltage - but like Andy I feel I have read this somewhere. My FBH ran fine yesterday with an indicated range of 60 miles left, if that helps. Too many toys, not enough time

Sounds like it's locked itself out. You may need to pull the fuse to reset it. It's in the underbonnet fusebox on mine.

It will lock itself out after 3 (I think) failed starts. Not sure if low fuel counts as a failed start, but I'm not entirely sure that would be the problem anyway - mine still worked the other night with 60 miles left on the range. 2010 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE

If you start the engine from cold, can you detect any exhaust from the FBH ?
I'm pretty sure it should run then too, so you get toasty before the engine has warmed up fully.
