I have had a number of vehicles since my first P38A with air suspension and virtually always lower it. In fact, in my L405, I have selected the option to auto lower it when a door is opened. Current: RR L322 2010

I use it all the time. However, if a door is opened whilst lowering then the lowering is stopped. I though it was a "safety" feature, to prevent lowering of door onto an external object. Is that not the case with the L405? |

That’s what I figured. In my experience mechanicals seem to prefer to be used. Trust me, I used to drive a TVR! |

I lower it pretty much every time. Makes getting in and out easier. Although I’m vain so it’s probably more to do with looks |

I lower mine most of the time, for seat bolster preservation, wife finds it easier to get in, and to help the dog jump up into the back! I also have side steps which help a lot with the first two as well. Previously a 2008MY Tonga Green Vogue SE 3.6 TDV8 |

Thats how it used to work on all my previous ones but there was an option in the vehicle settings (I think) that allowed easy access or something. I actually thought it was moving the wheel away and seat back wen the driver gets out but it seems to lower the vehicle when a door it opened. My L322 used to stop as soon as a door was opened as I used to moan at SWMBO always opened it while it was lowering despite me telling her 1 billion times not to
I am 99.999% sure you can not. Current: RR L322 2010 Past: RR L405 2017, RR L322 2012, 2008 & 2004, 2018 D5, 2016 Defender, 2011 D4, a few Disco2s, P38, RR Classic, couple of Disco1's, SIII SWB |
