Access mode.....

Hi All,
Not a problem at the moment, everything still works! My question is around whether people tend to use the access mode all the time or avoid it? I'm a bit of a short arse, and I reckon I'll put less wear on my seat bolsters getting in and out with the car sat on its haunches, so I use it all the time. Am I likely to cause myself a propblem further down the line with air bags or compressor?
Is it better to use this kit and keep it all freely moving, or better to just rest it all until its really needed?

Cheers!

I have had a number of vehicles since my first P38A with air suspension and virtually always lower it. In fact, in my L405, I have selected the option to auto lower it when a door is opened. Current: RR L322 2010

I use it all the time. However, if a door is opened whilst lowering then the lowering is stopped. I though it was a "safety" feature, to prevent lowering of door onto an external object. Is that not the case with the L405?

That’s what I figured. In my experience mechanicals seem to prefer to be used. Trust me, I used to drive a TVR!

I lower it pretty much every time. Makes getting in and out easier. Although I’m vain so it’s probably more to do with looks

I lower mine most of the time, for seat bolster preservation, wife finds it easier to get in, and to help the dog jump up into the back! I also have side steps which help a lot with the first two as well. Previously a 2008MY Tonga Green Vogue SE 3.6 TDV8

Thats how it used to work on all my previous ones but there was an option in the vehicle settings (I think) that allowed easy access or something. I actually thought it was moving the wheel away and seat back wen the driver gets out but it seems to lower the vehicle when a door it opened.

My L322 used to stop as soon as a door was opened as I used to moan at SWMBO always opened it while it was lowering despite me telling her 1 billion times not to Sad

On an l322 it shops when the door is opened but resumes when it is shut

I used to lower mine every time I parked it because it looked better!

The Mrs didn't however so I used to find myself going out and hitting the button whenever she parked it! I even lowered my access height a little more using an IID tool.

Obviously it will put more wear on the compressor but I think it actually does the airbags good not to be in the same position all the time.
