Yep I can see the caps as you say. No real reason for stainless to be exorbitant price the raw material isnt massively different in cost and the CNC machining is the same so it can only be down to market forces. Ive turned up a few Prop Nuts for model aircraft out of hexagonal stainless bar, I may just devote some time to making a set of these.

Just need to get a 14mm tap and some more coolant. BMW i3 Electric Car

Do other vehicles have this issue?

Also I remember reading that stainless is more brittle than steel, and perhaps not best for wheel nuts?
Is that correct?
. Cheers, Greg

The solid ones I bought are made from mild steel, but have been either Zinc plated or galvanised dipped, and they are fine.
I am sure I bought them after reading an eBay link from a post on the forum, sometime in 2016, but sorry, I can’t find it.
I know that I rang the manufacturer direct, so their must have been contact details, because I remember him telling me that they are tested to four times The recommended torque setting.
I will keep searching for the old post, and add it to this one if I find it.

United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Santorini Black

I’ve just bitten the bullet and ordered a full set of black nickel wheel nuts from Wringtons. Got fed up with my basic bog standard wheel nuts going rusty but didn’t want to go down the chrome-capped route either. Wasn’t sure about spending that amount of money on the RR but convinced myself that it was an investment! 😉
Also ordered a set of wheel centre caps - one of mine is missing and reckon it'll look odd with 1 brand new & 3 faded, so now I’ll have 3 spares for the next time 1 goes AWOL. Oh, and just to complete the hat-trick, I ordered some Gtechniq C4 as well in an attempt to get the scuttle (?) back to it’s original colour . . . or something near it!
Wonder what’s next on the to-do list . . . . ? L322 TDV8 4.4 - current
L322 TD6 - sold
Disco 2 TD5 - sold
Suzuki Grand Vitara XL7 - sold
Mitsubishi Pajero 2.8 - part ex'd
Hyundai Santa Fe 2.0 td - sold

I dip my nuts in a dish of old engine oil Whistle for a few mins whenever they are off so it seeps under the stainless steel skin, wipe off the excess and refit and they are still nice n 22mm... 2008 L322 Vogue 3.6 TDV8 in Java Black with parchment and Navy interior. 125000mls.
