Probably lots of rust under the plastic. I had holes in both sills.

Seems like this is rusting from outside - in? Is it caused by dirt stuck between plastic and metal?

I've not been on the forum for a while, and just posted a very similar post in the tech section. Seems I was a lot luckier than a lot of people. It has to be sorted early was my message and we have to stay on top. It's a sin that such a highly thought of (and bloody expensive) vehicle has such a vulnerability. Good luck with getting it sorted. |

They come off easily yes. Pull out the centre pins under the bottom of the plastic sills. Remove the nuts from the mud flaps if fitted the open the rear door and prise the plastic from the metal sill and then do the same with the front door open. Current 2007 TDV8 Vogue Buckingham Blue |

Having seen some of the above examples of corroded sills, bit the bullet today and took the sill covers off my 2004 TD6.
