Have you tried slamming the boot with the wiper switches on? See if it jumps? |

Not tried that, I did try flicking switch on and off and trying to move wiper arm, but it didnt start moving. Does the motor earth through the tailgate? Is that why you suggest slamming it?

Needs a new motor...., as you prob know, the water feed pipe goes through it and when it gets leaky, the motor seizes. Next thing will be rusty water leaking down the inside of the tailgate. That’s what my TD6 did....

How come the washer pumps not working though? Surely a dead wiper motor wouldnt stop the washer jet squirting? |

You mean it’s stopped running the pump? I think what tends to happen is that the water path gets blocked and the water either doesn’t come out or it squirts inside the motor and tailgate.

Yes, you are right, it can only break once!! As for the washer, i can't hear a pump running, so I thought maybe the 2 faults were linked. But with intact fuses its just weird. I will check for power feed first, it might be the column switch at fault.

Thats a brilliant suggestion, it should as you say wipe when in reverse if fronts are turned on. I will give it a go in the morning. |

It can if the pipe is blocked, then the water has flowed into the wiper motor and then both the washer & wiper motors have burnt out? |
