Fuel Heater Activation

I have bought a GAP IID tool a couple of weeks ago and was looking for an other fault due to to my temperature gauge fluctuating Monday I thought it might be the oil temp sender but cant seem to find anything on it on a TD6 engine.
But back to the problem I activated the park heat setting about 2 weeks ago and read that you have to wait for it to activate but when looking and the live result on Tuesday it shows that the heater is not activated I'm a missing something at it works fine when starting from cold but cant seem to get the park heat to display on the screen. Please help.

If I remember right...... I activated mine using Navcoder, but then had to do an instrument cluster reset before it appeared on the screen.

Sure I did a thread.... so you might have to do the instrument cluster reset.... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Sorry, I mention the cluster reset in this one. Can’t remember much as it’s years ago.

So according to my other post, you have to enable it in 2 places using the iidtool and then do an instrument cluster reset.

The cluster reset is one of the tests that are available on the bmw system. You don’t do that bit with a diagnostic tool.

Over 5 years ago for me, so I don’t remember specifics..... 2 settings using iid tool are something like Park Heat and Aux Heat, in different places. You have to do both. Then reset cluster. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

I have had a quick read of the other posts and have enabled both the Park Heat and Aux Heat, in the different setting menu so now just need to carry out a instrument cluster reset, if i have read right is just the case of disconnecting the battery or is the another option.

Its a hidden menu on the bmw system cars, put BMW hidden obc test or similar into google. You need to access test 2 which is instrument cluster. Think there are 21 tests available in total.

Done by pressing the left and right buttons on the binnacle in some sequence. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

I assume the menu option hasn’t changed now you’ve enabled in 2 places? 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Tried the reset before I left work which worked fine but no change to the screen, so tried again when I got home still no change on the screen will leave the car to go to sleep and see if it's had any effect in the morning.

Think you have to turn ignition off and back on after.

Does it now say Aux Heat/Vent instead of Aux Vent or similar? It’s not an additional option I don’t think. The car decides whether it’s going to heat or vent depending on the temperature.

That’s all I did. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Not sure then. Just had another search....

As you’ve prob seen on the Gap Diagnostic website, it says it may take up to a week to appear on the screen.... but they don’t mention any instrument cluster test.

See how you go then....
