Converting twin towing plugs to single

Hi guys

I need to convert my twin electrics to a single 13 pin plug. Has anyone done this and what’s it like to do?
I have the new plug ready to go on

Thanks

I did it on our old RR (which just had a single 7 pin) and had to buy the complete kit including new electrics box that goes in the boot.

As you already have the twin sockets, I don't know if you'd need to change the electrics box or whether you can just wire up the plug, sorry.

Our current one has two 7 pin sockets and we just use a converter cable that works perfectly:

As we just use an adaptor, which is exactly the same as just wiring up a 13 pin socket, I think you're probably going to be OK if you can get the wiring diagrams.

If you have to ask, then it might be tough..... and if you get it wrong, it’s an MOT failure.

I assume you mean you have a socket ?

The individual cables are colour coded and there are plenty 0f wiring diagrams on the net - but it’s pretty fiddly to do.

It might be easier just to buy an adapter

Because the wiring just behind the 12s plug had been on fire on mine I used a short piece of 12 core cable and then spliced it onto the plug, All worked out well in the end. BMW i3 Electric Car

It appears the missing wire in my loom is the blue/pink that goes to pin 9. I don’t have that one.
