A plastic tag at the bottom of the unit hooks inside the lower tailgate, then a plastic pin locates in a hole in the tailgate, then screw at the top, all secure, wobbles very slightly, but no real movement.

I don’t think I’ve explained clearly but the part that houses the bulb and has the screw through it is still attached to the tailgate. It’s the lens that has fallen off. |

I did think about that but thought it was a little crude. The bulb is replaced via the rear of the unit so glue does make sense. |

I have just refitted both lenses on mine. With the lamps off I gave them a good clean and run a very light bead of clear silicone around the mating surface before refixing both halves. Very easy 2007 TDV8 VSE

Thanks, I’ve removed both, cleaned them inside and out then siliconed around the edge lightly. All seems good now |
