Sounds like the poster is confusing the 3.0 with the 4.4..... that’s what happens with those engine. Afaik no such issue is present with the 4.4. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I agree the 4.4 has been confused with the 3.0 that spins the crank bearings! |

Interested in the last quote. The oil in these boxes gets pretty hot pretty quick. Unless the mega flush boils the bloody stuff I cannot see how it could damage a box?

I must confess to astonishment at the 3L spinning shells. Anyone know if they don't have securing lugs so they are locked when the main & big end cap are torqued down? Blimey, I'm old enough to have scraped white metal off the conrods before separate shell bearings were introduced. There must be an oil issue to heat them up enough to spin? Rehab is for quitters!!!

There’s nothing that seems to energise Land Rover forums more than a potential bad news story about engine reliability |

It doesn't seem to me there is a major engine reliability problem with any of the ffrr variants. Certainly, not based upon the low number examples doing the rounds on this forum. On that basis, there doesn't seem to be too much in it between any of the engine variants.
